FRONTENAC, KAN.—
Tucker Downing's last-second running layup gave Carthage a 70-69 overtime victory over Frontenac on Friday night in an interstate clash.
Downing scored 19 points to lead the Tigers (3-1), while
Alex Martini added 18,
Patrick Carlton had 14 and
Taris Jackson chipped in 11.
Blayne Baldwin scored 18 for the Raiders and Noah Brooks added 16.
The game was tied at 33 at intermission and Carthage led 44-42 after three periods. The Raiders held a 65-61 lead with 1:16 left before the Tigers rallied.
The Tigers return to action on Tuesday when they play in Springfield at Central High School.
