OZARK — The Carthage soccer team shutout Ozark 2-0 on Tuesday night on the road to wrap up Central Ozark Conference play. The Tigers improved to 12-9 and 6-3 in COC play with the win.
The two Tigers teams battled scoreless through the first half. Carthage broke the ice scoring their first goal in the 63rd minute as
Jonathan Perez found the back of the net.
Adrian Garrido had the assist. Two minutes later, the Tigers struck again when
George Laytham scored on an assist from
Danilo Lopez to extend the CHS lead to 2-0.
In earlier games of the evening, the Ozark JV defeated the Carthage JV 3-0. In an abbreviated "C" game, the two teams battled to a scoreless tie.
Carthage is back in action on Tuesday when they close out the regular season at Springfield Catholic.
