CARTHAGE – The Tigers volleyball returned home for a couple home matches this week.
On Tuesday, they hosted Carl Junction which doubled as a Pink Night game. The Tigers battled early in each set, yet came away with the 3-0 loss to the Bulldogs. The Tigers offense was led by seniors
Abby Holderbaum and
Brielle Cartwright each with 8 kills. Senior
Raven Probert provided 21 assists on the night, while also gathering 13 digs. Senior Mia De la Pena had 4 kills and added 11 digs.
Thursday night, Carthage hosted Republic in a clash of Tigers. Republic, with 20+ wins on the season, had a couple close sets in the first two rounds but held on to secure the win over Carthage 25-20, 25-18, 25-16. Probert paced the Tigers with 21 assists with Holderbaum leading with 7 kills, followed by De la Pina 5 and Cartwright's 4. Junior
Riann Schwartz picked up 13 digs on the night, followed by fellow junior
Ava Bourgault's 6.
Carthage will wrap up the regular season next week when they host Springfield Catholic for senior night on Monday, October 17, then play at Neosho on Tuesday.
