CARTHAGE – The Carthage High School volleyball team were road warriors the week of October 3rd. On Monday, they traveled to Bentonville for a non-conference matchup with BHS. The Tigers scrapped the first two sets coming up short then falling 3-0. Senior setter

Peyton Ray 5 kills, and senior
Brielle Cartwright 3 kills in part time action. Three Tigers helped the defensive effort with 6 digs each – Senior Mia De la Pena, and juniors
Riann Schwartz and
Ava Bourgault.
On Tuesday, they returned to COC play at Branson. In a spirited five set match, Carthage came away with the win – 25-20, 15-25, 25-21, 16-25, 15-13. The offense was led by a trio of seniors in kills – Holderbaum (13), Cartwright (8), and
Kinley Adams (7). Ray chipped in 6 kills for CHS. Senior setter set the table for the hitters all night totaling 34 assists while adding 15 digs. R. Schwartz led the Tigers in digs with 21, while senior
Kailyn Schultz and freshman
Ella Schwartz contributed 7 digs each to help the Tigers to victory.
The final road trip of the week was at Nixa where again the Tigers showed mettle battling the always tough Eagles. CHS led NHS much of the first set before falling 21-25, 15-25, 19-25. Leading hitting for CHS was Cartwright with 9 kills and Holderbaum with 7 kills. Probert picked up 19 assists on the night while digs leader was Schwartz with 8.
