CARTHAGE - Battling weather as well as their COC opponents, the Carthage High School track teams hosted the annual COC Track Meet on Friday. Originally scheduled for Thursday, heavy rains and storms postponed the event to Friday. Under clouds and cool weather, the meet was able to be run of in its entirety.

The Tigers efforts were led by relay teams and were second in the 4×400, with
Braxton McBride, Miquel Solano,
Tyler Burt and Landen Schrader finishing in 3:27.Â
The CHS team of Schrader,
Luke Gall,
Cooper Jadwin and
Aiden Rogers were third in the 4×100.
The Tigers placed fourth in the 4×200 relay, with Schrader, Taye Washington, McBride and Jadwin running.Â
Carthage's Solano took third in the 800, while
Daryl Martin placed fourth in the 300 hurdles. Also for the Tigers,
Micah Lindsey was fifth in the shot put and sixth in the discus,
Tyler Burt placed fifth in the 400 and
Zach Lansford took sixth in the javelin.Â
Carthage will head to Carl Junction on Saturday to compete in the Class 5 District 6 Track Meet.
