CARTHAGE — Carthage's girls were unable to overcome an early 10-point deficit in a 53-34 loss to Republic.
The visiting Tigers led 13-3 after the first period and Republic took a 23-9 lead into halftime.
Carthage put up 25 points after the break, and drew within eight points of Republic in the third quarter, but it wasn't enough.
Hailey Fullerton and Riley Kabance scored eight points apiece for Carthage. Halli Bartelsmeyer led Republic with 21 points.
Carthage (11-9, 1-3 COC) hosts Neosho at 6:00 on Monday.
